Preparing to Obtain Your Diploma

Graduating? You did it! Congratulations!  To obtain your diploma when it's available, you'll need to prepare during your final year by settling any financial obligations before leaving UCI.  Unpaid invoices or financial holds block the release of your diploma, even if you were making payments while you were in school.

For example, if you still owe PACE for your last quarter's registration fees, you cannot get your diploma until you have paid all remaining installments.  If you have a special payment arrangement with Campus Billing Services, you must pay the balance in full to obtain your diploma, even if you always made payments on time.

Use Quick Search to check your AR/C account for invoices, returned checks, and/or departmental holds.  Log on to  ZOTAccount Online to view outstanding lab fees, late registration fees, or other charges related to registration and enrollment.  You may even make an e-check electronic payment by clicking the "make payment" button in QuickSearch or ZOTAccount Online.

Expect to wait about 4 months after your graduating quarter ends for your diploma to become available.  For example, if you graduate in June, your diploma may be ready by the following October.  You'll want to maintain a current address on file with the Registrar, because a post card will be mailed to notify you when your diploma is ready.

When your post card arrives, examine it for any indication that you have a hold on your diploma.  Any outstanding debts or holds must be cleared before your diploma will be released.  Contact Campus Billing Services at (949) 824-2455 for instructions, if you are unable to access your student accounts with Quick Search and/or  ZOTAccount Online.

Replacing Your Diploma

If you need a replacement (duplicate) diploma, visit the Registrar's web site for instructions.  A written statement with your signature is required to affirm that your original diploma was lost or destroyed.  Any outstanding debts or holds must be cleared before a replacement (duplicate) diploma will be released.  Contact Campus Billing Services at (949) 824-2455 to inquire about a hold on your diploma.
