Why Do I Need An Exit Interview?
Federal Regulations and UCI policy requires that any student who borrows loan
funds from the University complete an Exit Interview. This requirement is in place
so that you will receive essential information regarding your rights and
responsibilities as a Student Loan Borrower. You will receive information about
the types of loans you received, when and where to make your payments, what to do
if you cannot make your payments, and what can happen if you do not make your payments.
If you do not complete an Exit Interview, a service HOLD will be placed on your records.
You will not be able to re-enroll in classes, or obtain other university services and
documents including, but not limited to your transcripts or diploma.
When Should I Do My Exit Interview?
Exit Interviews should be completed your last quarter of attendance at UCI. Many of you
will complete this requirement upon graduation. However, you must still satisfy this
requirment if you are: transferring to another school, "taking time off", fall below
half-time status, or withdraw from classes.
How Do I Complete My Exit Interview
Click on the above image for "Financial Counselor". This will take you to the Financial
Counselor website where you will select "Exit Interview". You will be prompted to enter
your Social Security Number and Date of Birth in order to log in to the session.
You will be lead through a number of pages of information. A quiz will follow. Once
you have satisfactorily completed the quiz, you will be asked to provide additional
information for our records. When the process is complete, you will receive an email
confirmation, and the information will be forwarded to UCI. It is quite simple.
Simply follow the instructions.
