If you think your accounts receivable (ARC) bill is incorrect, write to us at Campus Billing Services, University of California, Irvine, CA 92697-3020 as soon as possible, but no later than sixty (60) days after the first bill on which the error or questioned transaction appeared. You may telephone our office, but doing so will not preserve your rights.
In your letter, provide us with the following information:
Disputed charges are temporarily deducted from the amount due until the disputed items are resolved, but you are still obligated to pay the charges that are not in question. If disputes are not resolved within sixty days of our being notified, the balance and all applicable late charges are restored to the account.
While we can sometimes be of help in resolving billing issues, it is advisable to make direct contact with the department that issued the charge in question. Your ARC statement provides the originating department's name for each billed item.
If no resolution can be achieved, the UCI Ombudsman may be able to assist with independent research and mediation.
