Current Location to Pick Up Checks
The check disbursement operation has returned to Loan Services in 101 Aldrich Hall.
Checks will no longer be available for pick up at the Central Cashier's
At some universities, cashiers work behind the scenes and report to a Bursar, who by definition is the "keeper of the purse or treasury." At UCI, the staff of the Central Cashier assists the campus community by processing payments and deposits, and answering questions at our service windows. As members of a Financial Services work-group, we work closely with Campus Billing Services and Loan Services.
Like most cashiers, it's our job to work with money, and we do our best to make it as painless as possible for you to give up your hard-earned dollars. We are the employees who process your payments for registration, Housing, and other student transactions, such as add/drops, readmission applications, and transcript and diploma requests. We also receive payments for bills like Student Health invoices, returned checks, and Llibrary fines. If your check is returned (bounced) due to insufficient funds, stopped payment, or a closed account, we will issue an invoice to you.
In addition to applying payments to students' AR/C and ZOTAccounts, we respond to thousands of registration and payment inquiries from students, parents, and other departments; see our FAQ page for some of the common questions. Meanwhile, we process deposits of revenue for more than a hundred campus departments, making sure that income goes to the bank in a timely and accurate manner. Other services for departments include cashing petty cash checks and fulfilling change orders by arrangement.
There are several other cashiers on campus who take payments for the goods and services their departments provide. Parking is an example of a student services office that has a cashier for your convenience. It's always a good idea to note which cashier is expecting your payment; sending a check to the wrong location will only delay processing. If payments are due to two different cashiers, please pay them separately, not on the same check.
The Central Cashier is located on the UCI campus, on the second floor of Aldrich Hall (#111 on the campus map). Our mailing address is:
UC Irvine Central Cashier
228 Aldrich Hall
Irvine, CA 92697-1975
We are conveniently situated in the building lobby, across from the Office of the Registrar, and close to the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools. Campus Billing Services, Loan Services, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Graduate Divison are located just one floor below.
**Regular Office Hours**
If you find we are closed, you may submit your payment at a drop box, including the one near the main entrance to Aldrich Hall. Please allow time for delivery; payments deposited after the posted drop box pick-up times will arrive at the Central Cashier on the following business day.
We encourage you to pay online, whenever possible -- particularly during peak periods, such as registration. UCI's secure, web-based Net.Pay service credits your student accounts within moments, even though our cashier windows may be closed. Note that Net.Pay payments completed after 5:00 PM PST are recorded as paid on the following day. International students and their families may use the Bank-to-Bank Transfer service we offer in partnership with Western Union Business Services (WUBS). Please allow 2-3 business days to process a B2B transfer, after you have paid your home bank.
Important: Payments in person must be completed before our service windows close at 4:00 PM PST. Electronic payments must be completed by the close of business at 5:00 PM PST. Saying that a check is "in the mail," or an electronic transfer is pending, is not sufficient to avoid late penalties (such as being dropped from classes). Regardless of the method, your payment must be processed by the close of business on a payment deadline to be considered on-time.
Please read our statement on student privacy, so that we may communicate with you effectively. Although we strive to provide excellent customer service, federal and state privacy laws strictly limit the information we may disclose. Before you call or write, ask your student to share his/her current account data with you using the forwarding features in QuickSearch and ZOTAccount Online.
If you have been invited by a UCI student to make e-payments as an other payer , you may view your online payment history only. You may not view the student's payment history, or that of any other. The student may see all electronic payments on file for his/her account.
